Primary Treatment

Patients progress through Primary Treatment based on completing their treatment plan goals and moving through a series of levels. Depending on each individual's progress, primary treatment can last anywhere from 30 days to 60 days or longer.

Remaining in treatment for an adequate period of time is critical for treatment effectiveness. Research consistently demonstrates that most clients get significantly greater benefits by remaining in treatment longer than 30 days. This is particularly true for patients with co-occurring mental health or medical issues, those who go through prolonged detoxification and for those who have a history of relapse. Many clients will stay 90 days or longer in treatment with a combination of primary and extended care.
