Integrated Treatment
Foundations Associates treatment programs were founded on a simple dedication to improving the lives of persons with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders. By specially tailoring services to treat both disorders simultaneously, clients are achieving results that are transcending the limitations of traditional treatments. Counseling and other behavioral therapies are critical components of virtually all effective treatments for addiction.
Addicted or drug-abusing individuals with coexisting mental disorders should have both disorders treated in an integrated way.
Alta Mira uses Foundations Associates' Dual Diagnosis Addiction Treatment Model. This treatment model adopts major characteristics of proven mental health and substance abuse treatment methods, while pairing those characteristics with key components of effective integrated treatment including motivational enhancement, readiness to change approaches, counseling/support, and long-term and comprehensive interventions.
Foundations Associates CEO/Founder, Michael Cartwright, is nationally recognized as a pioneer in integrated services and has served in a consulting capacity through federal and state appointments. Foundations Associates' treatment programs have gained national attention, as well, with results supporting model of integrated and continuous treatment breaking the repetitive cycle of traditional separate systems of care for people with co-occurring conditions.

Foundations Associates treatment programs have emerged as a specialist in integrated treatment, expanding to include four comprehensive alcohol and drug treatment centers: Alta Mira in Sausalito, Calif.; The Canyon in Malibu, Calif.; Michael's House in Palm Springs, Calif.; and LaPaloma Treatment Center in Memphis, Tenn.
Our treatment programs are designed to address treatment needs of both high-end and executive clients in addition to middle income/private insurance clients. Combined, we offer approximately 170 residential beds which distinguish us nationally as the premier integrated treatment provider of co-occurring, integrated addiction treatment.
